The Story of Il Carraio
An Artisan Workshop
What today welcomes guests as a holiday home full of charm and comfort was once an artisan workshop: a lively place of skilled hands, the scent of wood and everyday craftsmanship. Here, many years ago, Marco’s grandfather and his family used to build wooden carts called “Barrocci”, which local farmers used for field work and for transporting goods.

Over time, the work has changed, but the soul of the place has remained intact. During the restoration, we chose to respect the building’s history, preserving the original materials wherever possible—the wooden beams, the ancient walls, and that authentic atmosphere that tells the story of the past. The vacation home has been reborn as a space for relaxation and hospitality, where tradition and modern comfort coexist in harmony. The spacious, bright rooms feature well-appointed bedrooms and common areas ideal for sharing moments of tranquility. Every detail has been designed to offer a pleasant stay, in perfect balance between simplicity, beauty, and memory: a place to slow down, breathe in the truest Tuscany, and feel part of a story that continues.
